Following the “H”

When I book a hotel stay I always think about service, accommodations, pool, gym and of course price.

Others book a hotel stay based on the restaurant and food quality of a hotel. I always taught the hotel food was not perfect, it was hotel food… therefore I would get a nicer dinner outside the hotel.

When my family and I went on a vacation to the Hilton Orlando, we were given the opportunity to have the  dinner of our lives at Spencer’s Restaurant. Before heading to the restaurant the first thing I noticed was the menu. I wanted to know the food choices ahead of time.

Spencer’s is a Scratch Kitchen  restaurant located at the Hilton Orlando Hotel, it is very sophisticated and approachable. Spencer’s is really famous for its Steaks and Chops, even though they offer a large variety of seafood, soup and delicious salads.

When the chef created the menu he just thought about perfection. We were amazed with the taste of our menu selection and the recommendations from Che,  our waiter.

Seared Tuna -Before dinner, the Chef sent over an amuse bouche which was ahi tuna dancing in top of a cucumber slice , it was drizzled with ginger, soy and sesame oil. Perfectly cooked and the pickled fennel added a new dimension to this standard.

Caesar Salad / romaine hearts, parmesan crisp = Caesar salad was accompanied by a thin baked crisp lacy cylinder of parmesan reggiano cheese. it was a beautiful presentation and the flavor was amazing. Simply Delicious !!!

Spencer’s Loaded Hash Browns /  a crisp, golden brown potato cake filled with bacon, cheddar, onions, chives and sour cream.

Lobster Two Ways/ lobster tail, tempura lobster claws, avocado tarragon mayonnaise, endive salad, bacon vinaigrette. This meal left us craving a visit to Spencer’s every night for the rest of our stay.

Loaded Baked Idaho Potato/ applewood smoked bacon, Tillamook cheddar, sweet onions, chives, sour cream

New York Steak / 12oz USDA Prime center cut. We are stake lovers. Constant followers of the Brazilian Rodizios and Stake Houses’ but this stake really left its mark. Juicy medium rare cook cut that melted like butter on the palate. Perfect seasoning of salts that placed this stake in the top of our rank. HANDS DOWN the best stake we have ever had.

Diamond shaped mini-doughnuts- came with yummy dipping sauces. All three were beautifully plated and devoured to the last crumb.

Our experience was definitely made memorable by  team’s  devotion to customer service and satisfaction. Excellent attentions from  Chef Kevin Spencer, Pedro the manager, Bartenders and waiters. They gave us a meal experience to remember.

If you need a first class meal, with a good wine, and dessert with a perfect brew of coffee, all in an organic enviroment  then Spencer’s for Steak and Chops at the Hilton Orlando is a reservation you need to make. We are anxiously hopping to Follow the Big “H” very soon in our next adventure.
