Carlos Vives Tops the Charts

Colombian singer Carlos Vives top the charts three times this week.

He comes in a first place on the music video channels in the US. “Volvi a Nacer” the first single off the Colombian star’s anticipated album Corazon Profundo is the most played video on MtvTr3s, Mun2, and Ritmoson. Corazon Profundo will be released on April 23rd in all of Latin America, United States, and Puerto Rico under the Sony Music label.

His second single, “Como Le Gusta A Tu Cuerpo” featuring Michel Telo has held at #1 on Billboard’s most requested and this week continues strong on the charts coming in at #4 on Hot Latin Songs, #2 on Latin Airplay, and #3 on Latin Pop songs in Billboard magazine.

Vives’ return has been impressionable. Five months ago he made his return with “Volvi a Nacer” and since has not stopped making headlines. Carlos Vives holds two consecutive #1 singles on Billboard. During that period of five months, Vives has been the pop artist with the most radio airplay in the US, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and Latin America with more than triple the audience compared to the artist coming in second.

On the video channel HTV, in which he spent over a month at #1, he maintains solid in the top 5 most popular videos with Volvi a Nacer. Vives was the VIP artist of the month in February and his HTV special will continue to air until the month of April.

Last week Vives found himself putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album which holds many surprises in store. In the upcoming weeks, Vives will travel to Chile, where “Volvi a Nacer” is the theme song for the telenovela, ‘Solamente Julia’. Following that, he’ll travel to Argentina and Mexico as part of his promotional tour.
