Bottled Love

Choosing whether to breastfeed or formula feed your newborn is one of the first conversations you will have as a parent.

Doctors always encourage woman to breastfeed, beside all the advantages of it, the bonding between the mother and the baby is amazing.

But honestly, we have to be realistic. Only mothers who have breastfeed know the not too pleasant process.

When my first child was born at 31 weeks, he did not know how to latch on my breast (teta), therefore the electric breast pump became my BFF during the first 5 months after giving birth. Pumping the milk is no fun – it’s more boring, takes time and it is actually time consuming.

Pumping the milk has become so common that even some women who are home with their babies all day long express their milk and feed it in a bottle.

Motherhood is about Smart thinking and choosing the right bottle for your baby can make a difference. At the end you do not want to go into bottle madness. Some of parents go through about 20 brands of bottle before ending up with the one that is suitable for the baby.

Last month while I was bottle hunting for my soon to be born daughter, I ran into the new Simply Smart Bottle.

I love the design, specially the formula “mixer” inside the bottle and the optional formula dispenser cap.

The rubber portion in the bottle, does indeed, help to mix and de-clump the formula and I LOVE that although removable, it is firmly attached.

Similac makes a travel cap for this bottle–you can put water in the bottle, the right amount of powdered formula in the cap, and then mix it up when you need it.
