In her new collection she uses the Caribbean woman as inspiration: where she describes it as a firm woman, distinguished, fashionable, confident, independent and feminine. This collection represents a Caribbean woman that likes culture, is self-confident and is capable of mixing fashion with elegance and simplicity.
She also had handbags with beautiful prints that made the women look young and fun to wear during spring and summer. Gorgeous gowns with the perfect fit for the perfect figure, using a tropical green color drape with black chiffon. (One of my favorites)
Besides using bright colors such as purple, she also used metallic fabrics, delicate lace and organza in different looks as her favorite choice of fabrics.
I Love the way she presented her trade mark in different looks using the shirt or dressy capes with hoodies on some of her garments, just as she presented the first dress of the first lady, Michelle Obama.
Isabel’s collection was sexy and elegant. Clearly, she did not forget a woman’s body and shape in this collection. Although the final dress was not my favorite, the girl did not have the body & shape to fit the dress. That’s my only critic.
The Cuban designer utilized an array of bright colors inspired by the tropical woman. For example, a bright orange long skirt worn with an orange blazer and a white top underneath. Cute shades of orange mixed with green and yellow halter dress in a flowing chiffon and lace top stylized with a beautiful soft pink graphic hat. Toledo also used brocade silver, gold & black fabric in one garment, making it easier to mix & match the combination of your choice of accessories.
